£500 reward for missing parrot Billy
Date published: 14 October 2008
A CHEEKY parrot with a knack for impressions, delivered in a broad Oldham accent, has flown the nest leading his devastated owners to offer £500 for his safe return.
Three-year-old Congo African Grey Billy has lived with the Faulkner family in Stoneleigh Street, Springhead, since he was a chick.
He has free reign of the home and is only locked in his cage if the family — dad Lee, mum Ayshea and 12-year-old daughter Melissa — are all going out.
On September 28, Billy took his freedom a bit too far and made a getaway through the back door towards Lees and he’s not been seen since.
Lee, a HGV driver, said: “Billy is well known for his impressions and he speaks in a broad Oldham accent.
“He is so good that we can tell which one of us he is mimicking when he talks. Melissa is absolutely devastated that he is missing. £500 might seem like a lot of money but Billy is part of the family and you can’t put a price on that.”
If anyone has any information about Billy’s whereabouts they are asked to call Lee on 07885992864.
