Flu puts paid to Andre visit
Date published: 14 October 2008
CLUBBERS in Oldham faced disappointment on Saturday when Peter Andre failed to appear.
The singer, best-known as the husband of glamour model Jordan and for being an “I’m a Celebrity” contestant in 2004, was absent from Tokyo Project in Roscoe Street.
His agent phoned the club at 6pm to say that Andre had gastric flu and would not be attending.
Tokyo Industries director Aaron Mellor said this at least gave them time to post a notice on the social networking site Facebook and on the club’s website.
And a notice was also posted on the door of the club to say that Andre would not be there.
Yet it was still still a disappointing night for many of those who paid a nominal fee of 90p to get in.
Mr Mellor said he was now waiting for a fuller explanation from Andre’s agent and was working towards arranging an alternative booking.
