SIR Geoff Hurst presents the FA award to St Joseph’s head teacher Steve Hill
ENGLAND’S 1966 hat-trick hero, Ashton-born Sir Geoff Hurst, has honoured a Shaw school which scored a footballing quadruple.
He presented St Joseph’s RC Primary School with its latest FA Charter Standard which recognises excellence at grassroots level.
It is the fourth year the school has received the standard and it also scooped the national award for exceeding the requirements.
Head teacher Andrew Dickinson attended a presentation at Wembley Stadium with deputies Steve Hill and Gary Needle
They were entertained by the FA before watching England beat Kazakhstan.
