LATICS fans were again off target in the Crossbar Challenge at half-time during the top-of-the-table clash with Leicester City.
The contest allows up to six fans at each home game to try to hit the crossbar from around 40 yards, with two season tickets, valid for 10 years, up for grabs for anyone who is successful.
Just as Oldham Athletic battled back to earn a 1-1 draw with Leicester, their fans also put plenty of effort in with some game attempts. Danny Salt (above), from Limeside, and Andrew Tither (below), from Uppermill, were among the latest challengers but, sadly, they both missed the target and ended up on their backsides. All challengers received a Latics replica shirt for their efforts.
The competition is organised in association with the Oldham Evening Chronicle, the club’s official media partner, with four readers’ names drawn out after sending in special coupons printed in the newspaper and Latics club staff choosing two more supporters in the minutes before kick-off. A 10-year season ticket would cost just over £3,000 at today’s prices.
