OLDHAM Primary Care Trust has been commended by a patients’ group for it’s results in the Healthcare Commission’s annual health check.
The health watchdog awarded the PCT the second highest rating of Good for both its quality of services and use of resources. It achieved full marks for safety and cleanliness.
The Patients’ Council says it is delighted with the results, which put Oldham PCT in the top third in the country for quality of services to its patients, and in the top half for finances.
It says it demonstrates that Oldham PCT is well on track to meet its targets.
Paul Mainwaring, chairman of the Patients’ Council, said: “These are good results and are wholly deserved by Oldham PCT and its hard working staff.
“We are seeing vast improvements in our health services and are seeing the health of our local population improve. The Patients’ Council would like to thank Oldham PCT and its partners for its openness in achieving these results.”
He added that the group will continue to work closely with the PCT in developing health care. It also supports the PCT’s vision for the future with regards to the reconfiguration of services across north-east Greater Manchester, called Healthy Futures, and also the Making It Better blueprint for Greater Manchester.
