Businesses donate to security plan

A SAFETY project costing almost £100,000 has been approved for Fitton Hill and Hathershaw.
The money is made up of £95,000 from the New Deal for Communities fund, and expected business contributions of £2,500.
The project aims to cut domestic burglaries and attacks on businesses by completing alleygating schemes, maintaining existing schemes, adding security features to homes, and setting up Home Watch and Business Watch schemes.
Social landlords will be asked to make contributions, and business are expected to add £2,500.
Other help will include fitting mortice and window locks, door chains and viewers, security lights and alarm systems.
