KICK it out . . .the Latics players take to the pitch in their special T-shirts
LATICS players ditched their blue shirts in a bid to show their commitment to kicking racism out of football.
The high-flying club —currently fourth in League One after holding Leicester to a 1-1 draw on Saturday — are taking part in the national Kick It Out campaign.
The team donned special T-shirts bearing the message “One Game, One Community” for the game at Boundary Park.
In addition, the club’s Community Trust is running coaching sessions and after school clubs to make sure as many children as possible can benefit from sport, while the Kickz project, which is run in Coldhurst, encourages youngsters to volunteer their time as well as giving them the chance to improve their soccer skills and reduce the chance of them getting into trouble.
And Latics coaches have been visiting local schools to run Healthy Breakfast Clubs to encourage youngsters to make healthier choices when it comes to food and exercise.
