ROYTON cadets who gave up their time to collect £2,329 for the 2007 Poppy Appeal have been honoured by the Royal British Legion.
The detachment which meets at Our Lady’s RC High School, Vaughan Street, was presented with a certificate in recognition of its efforts.
The cadets mostly collected the money from Saturday shoppers at the Centre Retail Park, Elk Mill, and SSI David Hewitt said: “It was a big increase and all of the cadets worked really hard. They are fantastic.”
