LEAP of faith . . . Dr Ian Watson (bottom) skydives in tandem from 14,000ft
THE sky’s the limit for doctor duo Ian Watson and Alan Nye — they are preparing to leap from an aircraft at 14,000ft.
Dr Watson, a GP at Saddleworth Medical Centre, Uppermill, and Glodwick GP Dr Nye will sky-dive to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity.
The adrenaline junkies believe whole affair will be a real thrill. And with a leap into the sky high above Cark, near Grange over Sands, few can argue with them.
The Help for Heroes charity was set up 12 months ago to help care for injured servicemen coming back from the Gulf.
Dr Watson (39), who is married with two children and lives in Greenfield, said: “It’s not the first time I have done sky-diving. Last month I did one at the same place and it was an amazing adrenalin buzz. Now I am planning to do this again a second time on November 8 — this time for a good cause.”
Patients are invited to support the leap of faith by collecting a sponsorship form from the Saddleworth Medical Centre.
Dr Watson’s previous charity successes include the London Marathon. Also a keen rock climber, he has conquered some of the highest continental summits.
