Will the fans rise to the challenge?

IT WAS best foot forward for Latics fans taking the half-time Crossbar Challenge during the weekend’s match against Yeovil.
The contest allows up to six fans at each home game to try to hit the crossbar from around 40 yards, with two season tickets, valid for 10 years, up for grabs for anyone who is successful.
Despite valiant efforts from fans such as Neil Russell and Nathan Price, the fledgling soccer stars failed to hit the bar, just as Oldham Athletic failed to hit the back of the net in a 2-0 defeat.
However, all challengers received a Latics replica shirt for their efforts.
The competition is organised in association with the Oldham Evening Chronicle, the club’s official media partner, with four readers’ names drawn out after sending in special coupons printed in the newspaper and Latics club staff choosing two more supporters in the minutes before kick off.
A 10-year season ticket would cost just over £3,000 at today’s prices.
