PUPILS at Royton Hall Primary school may still waiting for their new school building to he completed, but they have some nifty models to keep them going in the meantime.
Royton Hall is an amalgamation of High Barn and Byron Street schools and is currently operating from two sites.
However, in September, the youngsters will be moving into a new building in the grounds of High Barn.
Contractor GB Building Solutions is carrying out the work, but staff members took time to set the children the challenge of building a model of their new school.
The pupils were taken around the site and shown a model of the building and left to create their own versions in class groups, using anything from cardboard to cereal boxes.
Head teacher Jane Wilson, said: “It’s really fired the children’s competitive spirit and they and the teachers are enjoying a bit of friendly rivalry.”
The models will be judged on November 28, with the best class at either site being given a day out as a surprise.
