LANDLORD Daniel Cressey selling the Chronicle at the Junction Inn, Denshaw
CHRONICLE readers in Denshaw have been dropping into their local pub — not for a pint but for a copy of their favourite newspaper.
Daniel Cressey, landlord of the Junction Inn, Rochdale Road, has been selling the Oldham Evening Chronicle while the owners of the Denshaw Post Office, across the road, are on holiday. The post office remains open from 9am to 1pm each day, but for Royal Mail services only.
Mr Cressey (33) explained: “I offered to help the couple because I didn’t want older people travelling too far to get their Evening Chronicle. I have to say the newspaper is quite popular.
“I have a sign outside telling people that I am selling the newspapers. Some of them find it quite amusing.”
