Bonfire louts threaten firemen

FIREFIGHTERS were threatened by youths as they tackled bonfire related incidents in Oldham last night.
Crews from Oldham were verbally abused by a gang of youths as they attended a car fire on Westhulme Avenue, Coldhurst, around 8pm.
An hour later, officers were threatened again as they contained a blaze involving a bonfire on a car park on Cornwall Street, Werneth.
In another incident, a lit firework was pushed through a letterbox of a house in Morris Street, Glodwick, around 7pm.
There was smoke damage to the main door area but no one was injured.
A spokesman from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service reported a busy night but said there were no major incidents.
An ambulance spokesman said the night was busy but routine.
