A LIGHT and sound spectacular enthralled revellers at Shaw Cricket Club’s bonfire display.
The annual event is one of the largest organised bonfires in the Oldham area and didn’t disappoint with fireworks that could be seen for miles around.
Crowds enjoyed the warmth of the roaring bonfire, off Mark Lane, and tucked in to some traditional food and refreshments.Bonfire saved from fire...
FIREFIGHTERS saved the day when they were called out to a bonfire which set was alight the day before it was due to go up!
Crews from Hollins fire station put out the flames before much of the wood had burned which meant the bonfire party, in Keb Lane, Bardsley, could go ahead as planned on Saturday. The call-out was one of a number across the borough over the weekend, mainly by residents who were worried that bonfires may spread to their property.
