Three teenagers hurt in accidents

THREE teenagers suffered serious injuries in separate accidents at the weekend.
In the first, on Friday night, two girls were struck by a car in Broadway, Chadderton, as they crossed at the junction with Long Lane.
An 18-year-old Chadderton girl suffered multiple fractures to her legs, arms, ribs, pelvis, back and collar bone, as well as internal injuries.
She was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital where her condition is described as stable but poorly.
The other victim aged 19, also from Chadderton, was taken to North Manchester General Hospital suffering fractured legs and pelvis. Her condition is stable.
The driver of the car, a 20-year-old man from Failsworth, was uninjured.
In the second accident, a 13-year-old boy was left critically injured after the bike he was riding was involved in a collision with a car.
The teenager was with a group of friends, who were also on bicycles, at the junction of Hollins Road and Millgate on Saturday evening when the accident happened.
He suffered a serious head injury when he collided with the Volkswagen Polo, at around 6.30pm.
He was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital and later transferred to Pendlebury Children’s Hospital.
