90 homes planned for derelict site
Date published: 10 November 2008
UP to 90 homes could be built on a derelict site in Chadderton.
The plan is for a mixture of two and three-storey houses and four-storey flats on land at Rose Mill, Rose Street.
The plan, submitted by Rico Homes, has received one letter of objection on the grounds of a loss of an adjacent playing field and the high density of development.
The site lies within the Housing Market Renewal (HMR) area and will contribute to HMR targets for increased stock and quality of housing.
West Pennine Housing Association is the developer’s preferred social landlord and has agreed to contribute towards the affordable housing provision.
The plan is recommended for approval and will be considered at next Wednesday’s planning committee at the Civic Centre, Oldham, at 6pm.
