The Conservative Party has expelled MEP Den Dover after an inquiry found him guilty of expenses abuse and ordered him to repay more than £500,000.
Oldham Lib-Dem MEP Chris Davies said: “For once the European Parliament has carried out a proper investigation and been backed up by firm action by the Conservative Party.”
John Whittaker, Oldham MEP for the UK Independence Party said: “It is remarkable that this has apparently been going on for so long and has only now been uncovered.”
