A MAN has been arrested in Oldham in connection with a vicious pub robbery.
Four masked, knife-wielding robbers got into the Royal Oak, Hurst Cross, Ashton, at 1.15am yesterday via a fire escape door.
They forced open a door to the living quarters, where staff were eating, and held a knife to the landlord’s throat and demanded cash before stealing a quantity of money.
A black Ford Mondeo has been linked to the offence but forensic work is ongoing.
Three of the offenders are described as being of medium build while the fourth was described as fat. All were wearing dark clothing.
A 28-year-old man from Tameside was arrested in Oldham on suspicion of robbery and released on bail, pending further inquiries, until February.
