Duo in race to be calendar pin-ups

TWO Oldham hunks are vying for votes to appear in a calendar featuring Manchester’s sexiest men.

Matthew Adamson (19 ), from Royton, and Jason Magee (28), from Chadderton are down to the final 20 in the annual Galaxy Radio Manhunt — now in its third year — which appeals for girlfriends, wives, friends, work colleagues to put men forward for the calendar.

Thousands of entrants from Greater Manchester apply each year, which are whittled down to the finalists by the Galaxy judging panel.

The finalists are then put to the public vote, and the 12 attracting the highest number of votes become Mr January to Mr December.

Jason, who is single and works in construction, said: “My picture was sent in by a friend, and thousands get sent in, but it was down to 50 and I had to go to Galaxy studios and have a couple of photos taken.

“I hope I make it, but I’ve no designs on being a model, it’s just a bit of fun. It would be nice to be December then my picture would be there the longest.”

Matthew, a former student now working for Rochdale Council, said: “My picture was also sent in by a friend, and I thought it would be a laugh.

“We tour pubs and clubs in Manchester to get people to vote.”
