Racing up the league tables

TWO Oldham schools have climbed into the country’s top 50 state primaries.
St Joseph’s RC Primary, Shaw, is 11th in the list complied by The Sunday Times and Greenfield St Mary’s CE Primary is 18th.
Their positions have improved from 119th and 78th respectively last year.
The league table ranks the top 500 primaries.
Only church schools in Oldham feature on the list with
East Crompton St James’s CE, Shaw, 101st; Holy Trinity CE Dobcross 361st; Thornham St James’ CE, Royton, 405th and Holy Rosary RC, Fitton Hill, 497th.
