A 21-YEAR-OLD man had his jaw broken during a brutal assault while out with his girlfriend in Oldham.
The victim had just left the Walkabout pub in Yorkshire Street between 12.30am and 1.30am on October 13 when a group of men started shouting at his girl friend.
One of the men pushed the victim in the back and when he turned around to confront him, the man punched him in the face.
The group fled leaving the man with his jaw broken in three places.
Police have now released a CCTV still of the man they want to speak to in connection with the assault.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image, or who saw the assault, to come forward.
Det Cons Mike Hayman, from Oldham CID, said: “It was a mindless attack that has left the victim very upset.
“This sort of attack could have happened to anyone on a night out, so I would urge anyone who has information to come forward.
“If this happened to you, you would be desperate that this man be caught, so please, if you do know something, tell us.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Oldham CID on 0161 856 8951 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
