Road closure at KIln Hill Lane Chadderton.
A CHADDERTON road closure will affect around 100 properties when work begins to fix a collapsed culvert.
A 20ft stretch of Kiln Hill Lane, close to Hill Top Farm, will be closed for 18 months, starting on Thursday.
A diversion will be put into place via Heights Lane, Cragg Road, Mill Brow and Chadderton Hall Road in both directions to help traffic flow for residents in near-by properties.
Cabinet member for environment and infrastructure Mark Alcock said: “Kiln Hill Lane in Chadderton has been closed due to a landslide which has also weakened the road structure.
“Because of concerns over public safety the decision was taken to close the road, so that a full assessment of the damage can be carried out and repairs made.
“In an effort to minimise inconvenience to motorists, traffic has been diverted while the works are carried out.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
