Fears over alcohol sales
Date published: 24 November 2008
ANTI-SOCIAL behaviour will get worse if a Chadderton newsagent gets a licence to sell alcohol, according to ward councillors.
Ibrar Razaq has applied for permission to sell drink at his shop in Victoria Street from 8am to 11pm.
Two councillors have raised objections to the application saying they are concerned the area’s problems with youth nuisance would be made worse.
Councillors Jack Hulme and Len Quinn have written to the licensing department to put their concerns on record.
Members of the council’s licensing panel will discuss the application tomorrow.
