Date published: 24 November 2008
RADIO presenter Steve Penk was taken to hospital with agonising stomach pains while preparing for his Breakfast Show on Friday.
Steve, who recently took ownership of North-West station 96.2 The Revolution, spent the day at the Royal Oldham hospital where he was diagnosed with kidney stones.
He said: “I’d like to thank everyone at the Royal Oldham for looking after me so well. I’ve never known pain like that and it was such a relief to find out what was causing it.”
The Revolution’s station manager, John Evington, said: “When Steve failed to appear on air we were inundated with inquiries from listeners and when we mentioned that he was in hospital the phones went crazy with messages of goodwill.”
Steve hopes to return to the Breakfast Show in the next few days.
