Latics ditch blue for green ribbon

OLDHAM Athletic players marked World Aids Day at last night’s game with Walsall by encouraging people to get tested for HIV.
Body Positive North West (BPNW) is marking World Aids Day, which takes place on Tuesday, by holding a year long Go4it campaign.
Latics players showed solidarity by wearing Green Ribbon T-shirts during the warm-up before their 3-2 victory.
An estimated 21,000 people in the UK are living with HIV undiagnosed.
Robert Fieldhouse, of BPNW, said: “The red ribbon will always be the symbol of AIDS. The green ribbon does not change that.
“It is a call to action — an acknowledgement that HIV testing is valuable and that life after diagnosis can be healthy and positive.”
