Longer hours for pub
Date published: 27 November 2008
A ROYTON pub can go ahead with its plans for longer opening hours and more entertainment despite objections from residents.
Oldham Licensing Panel decided on Tuesday that the Old Grey Mare, in Oldham Road, could extend its hours and widen its licence to include other activities such as indoor sporting events, live music and the playing of recorded music and dancing.
Members heard that the activities would operate 9am to 11.30pm, Sunday to Thursday, and 9am to 12.30am on Friday and Saturday.
Alcohol licenses would run from 9am to midnight, Sunday to Thursday, and 9am to 1am Friday and Saturday.
Residents were unhappy about the changes on the grounds of noise and disturbance.
