St Joseph's Juniors entertain penshioners at Shaw Methodists Church, Shaw, Elva Corlett and Anne Mallalieu meet some of the children
CHRISTMAS came early for blind and partially-sighted people from Royton and Shaw this week.
More than 30 Year 6 pupils from St Joseph’s RC Primary School, Shaw, treated members of Roysha Vale, a group for the blind and partially-sighted, to a musical afternoon at the United Reformed Church, in Rochdale Road.
Head teacher Andrew Dickson, deputy head Stephen Hill, business manager Norma Kirkpatrick and teaching assistant Carole Dunkerley joined the youngsters as they performed a concert of orchestral music and carols.
The school has had links with Roysha Vale for many years and Norma Kirkpatrick said: “It was a lovely occasion and it was good to keep the links going.”
