Cannabis farm discovered
Date published: 28 November 2008
POLICE have uncovered a cannabis farm in Waterhead containing 102 plants with a street value of £50,000.
Officers were called to a house in Spring Street at 10pm on Wednesday following a report of youths acting suspiciously.
There was no reply at the door but a strong smell of cannabis was coming from the house.
After a full search the haul was uncovered and police are now appealing for the public’s help to trace the farm’s owners. PC Jon McGarry said: “This is a significant find and efforts are ongoing to trace those responsible.
“If anyone has noticed people arriving and leaving the house at random times of the day or night please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 0161-856 9074 or the Crimestoppers charity (anonymously) on 0800-555 111.
