THE fight against anti social behaviour is coming to Limehurst — by bus.
Limehurst Village Trust has teamed up with the Eden Project to bring its outreach youth bus to the area.
The bus has been brought in as part of the Trust’s continuing drive to reduce criminal damage and alcohol related anti-social behaviour.
Staffed by youth workers and volunteers from the local community, the bus is designed as a place where young people can go, and where they can find someone to talk to.
It will be based in Limehurst for an initial seven months and, if a success, it is hoped that the project will expand across Hollinwood.
John Norris, Failsworth and Hollinwood neighbourhood manager, said: “I am really excited about the Eden Project, and really want to thank Limehurst Village Trust for funding the project.
“We already have fantastic youth services staff who work extremely hard, but support from voluntary groups such as Eden, the Street Pastors and the New Life Church Link workers is a welcome addition that enhances the level of support for young people in the area.”
The bus will be at Saint Chad’s Centre every Thursday from 7.30pm to 9pm.
