Jobs risk at Mirror plant
Date published: 01 December 2008
UP to 20 jobs are at risk at the Mirror Colour Print (Oldham) Ltd plant in Hollinwood.
A decision by Trinity Mirror to move printing of several weekly titles and freesheets to the Oldham site, from Liverpool, has led to the decision.
Eventually, printing of the Liverpool Echo and the Liverpool Daily Post will also move to Oldham.
It is understood that, as both sites are owned by Trinity Mirror, the displaced workers at Liverpool will be placed in the same pool as the current Oldham staff before assessments are made ahead of redundancy announcements.
Discussions were due to start today and the Evening Chronicle understands that between 15 and 20 posts will go.
