Ice rink comes to town
Date published: 02 December 2008
A MINI ice-rink is being installed in Market Place Oldham as part of this weekend’s Winter Wonderland extravaganza.
Visitors and shoppers will be treated to live music, and should look out for seasonal costume characters such as Jack Frost, Peter the Polar Bear and Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer on Saturday and Sunday.
Town centre manager Mark Lester said: “No matter your ability on the ice, the mini ice-rink is a wonderful opportunity for those wanting to do something a little different this Christmas season.
“And for those wanting to stay off the ice there is seasonal live music and cuddly costume characters.”
The rink will operate between 10am and 4pm, tickets cost £1 and will be issued from the rink.
