FUSILIER Chris Mannock
AN Oldham-born fusilier has been given the privilege of standing guard for the Queen outside Buckingham and St James’s Palaces.
And today was Fusilier Chris Mannock’s last day on guard as part of the ceremony to mark the State opening of Parliament.
Chris is a former pupil of Failsworth School and later at the age of 21, joined his local Infantry regiment, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
Having completed training, he moved immediately to Northern Ireland where he was awarded his first operation medal.
He has experienced a whole range of activities and returned to the UK in early 2008 and is now based in West London.
