TWO men have been arrested after police uncovered a haul of cannabis plants in Fitton Hill.
Officers went to a house on Fir Tree Avenue at 10.30pm on Monday following reports of a break-in.
They searched the property and found 22 illegal plants growing in an upstairs bedroom as well as equipment used to grow the drug.
A 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and have been bailed until January 27 pending further inquiries.
Sergeant Robert Howarth, of Oldham police station, said: “Tackling the supply of cannabis is a major priority for the force and this recovery marks an important step in that fight.”
