Sarah’s hubby in Quays job

THE husband of Oldham-born actress Sarah Lancashire is to be the first director of BBC North at the new Medicity at Salford Quays.
Burnley-born Peter Salmon, the former BBC1 controller, will lead the largest transfer of staff and departments out of London in the BBC’s history when he takes up his new post next year.
The site will house 2,500 BBC staff.
Sarah, a former Hulme Grammar School pupil, rose to fame as dippy barmaid Raquel in “Coronation Street” and has appeared in a number of popular dramas.
