Man, 21, charged with affray

A 21-YEAR-OLD man has been charged following a mass brawl in Oldham town centre in which another man was injured.
John Haining (21), of Eastern Bypass, Openshaw, and a 17-year-old, who cannot be identified, have been charged with affray and are due to appear before Oldham magistrates on Tuesday.
A 21-year-old man suffered head injuries after he was chased and set upon during the incident which flared in Yorkshire Street at around 2am on December 5 and involved more than 20 people.
Det Sgt James Sweeney, of Oldham CID said: “We’re doing all we can to trace who was responsible that night, but we need your help. If you saw anything or you know who was involved, please call us.”
