Hall of plenty!

EXCITED pupils at a Royton primary school surrounded Latics star Andy Liddell as he officially opened their new hall.

Children at SS Aidan and Oswald on Roman Road celebrated the opening of the hall with an art exhibition which filled it with colour.

The building houses state-of-the-art pre-school facilities and a large hall for school use. For many years the school has held assemblies in a small hall with pre-school classes in mobile classrooms.

Now for the first time, both the pre-school and children at SS Aidan and Oswald can be together for school assemblies.

Head teacher, Mr Damian Harrison said: “Both the school and pre-school are extremely proud of the high quality educational provision we give the children. We now have a new facility which will greatly help us continue with this.

“This is the result of the strong partnership which exists between the different groups involved and it demonstrates the exciting potential which can be achieved with good planning and good collaboration.”

The scheme was funded through a partnership with Oldham Council’s Sure Start the school and Salford Diocese.
