Thug gets eight months
Date published: 17 December 2008
A THUG has been jailed for eight months after a string of thefts and assaults.
Carl Jackman (27), of Wastwater Street, Higginshaw, was sentenced at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester.
Jackman, who has 61 previous convictions, stole a £1,000 CCTV camera from a building site on October 30, 2007 — which actually filmed him in the act.
He then tormented another man by trying to blackmail him, assaulting him and throwing bricks at his house.
Thomas Gilbart, defending, said: “He has stated his desire to stop taking drugs and change his lifestyle.”
