Criminals sent a Christmas message
Date published: 18 December 2008
CRIMINALS will get a heartfelt message of seasonal goodwill and a warning to stay out of trouble in Christmas cards sent out by Oldham Police.
Offenders around the borough have received cards from the Divisional Task Force warning them to be good boys and girls this Christmas and stay on the straight and narrow.
The cards feature a festive poem with the message “Santa may come down your chimney, but we’ll come through your door.”
Inside the card there is a letter from Chief Supt Caroline Ball warning offenders that they are being closely watched over the Christmas period. They are also warned about the consequences of committing crime and engaging in anti-social behaviour.
Chief Supt Ball said: “Christmas and New Year can be a time of year when criminals give in to temptation and re-offend.
“These Christmas cards are a warning that we are watching them and will treat anyone offending very seriously.
“We are determined to make this Christmas and New Year a safe and peaceful one for our residents.”
