Move to put brake on rat-run cars
Date published: 22 December 2008
Residents will be consulted over ways to tackle traffic rat-runs in Shaw.
Complaints have been received by Oldham Council about the use of Queen Street and Longley Street as a rush hour rat-run, especially during the morning.
Following research and traffic monitoring surveys, the council is launching a consultation.
A list of proposals have been put forward which will be delivered to local people over the next few days.
These proposals will explain what the findings are and give suggestions on what can be done to alleviate these issues, including preventing through traffic on Queen Street.
All residents are being asked to read and consider the proposals carefully and return them no later than January 23.
