TODDLER Samara Soares de Silva never stops smiling despite having to undergo harsh chemotherapy treatments for half of her life.
The three-year-old was diagnosed with leukaemia when she was 18-months-old. Staff at Giggle and Grow Nursery, in Horsedge Street, St Mary’s put their heads together to give Samara an afternoon to remember.
A spectacular fund-raising event was held at Oldham Cricket Club complete with children’s entertainers, singers, raffles, a disco and a visit from Father Christmas.
All money raised — which currently stands at £1,000 and counting — will be given to Samara’s family to help them give her a special treat when her chemo is finished.
