A FORMER Latics player has been released on bail following a crash which killed a father of five on the M1 on Christmas Day.
Jordan Robertson, a Sheffield United striker currently on loan to Southampton, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following the collision which killed 38-year-old Omar Mohamed, coach and a former captain of the Somalia basketball team.
Robertson’s Mercedes CLC 180 hit Mr Mohamed’s Ford Galaxy on the southbound carriageway.
Robertson joined Latics for a month’s loan in February and scored the opening goal in Latics 3-0 victory over Port Vale in March. He has been released on bail
