BIG freeze . . . joggers brave the chill
THE BIG freeze settled over Oldham this festive period and sent temperatures plummeting.
As residents bade farewell to 2008 and ushered in 2009, meteorologists recorded temperatures as low as -6.6C (20F).
But there are always a few hardy Oldhamers ready to brave the wintry weather to get fit for the new year.
