CARETAKER Geoff Wood was spot on as he cleaned up in a new Evening Chronicle competition.
Text-the-Ball is an old favourite with a new twist as competitors have to correctly guess the grid square of a missing football and text in the answer.
The Limeside Primary School employee, from Seventh Avenue, scooped £100 when he was picked out as the winner after identifying where the ball should be.
Mr Wood (54), who was in the army for 22 years, recently had to fork out to get his classic car in tip top shape for a long journey down to Colchester to visit his son and grandchildren over the festive season and the money will help pay the bill.
He said: “It’s brilliant. The money will go a long way towards the repairs on my car. I used to play the old spot the ball but this is the first time I have won. I found it a lot easier.”
