Issues raised over school extension
Date published: 09 January 2009
Plans for an extension to Holy Rosary RC Primary School, Fitton Hill, need reconsidering, according to police design experts.
Proposals for the single-storey Fir Tree Avenue school to create two new classrooms also include a flat roof, storage area and new toilet. But the Greater Manchester Police Architectural Liaison Unit has expressed concern about the design.
It says plans do not address crime and disorder issues.
The plans have recently been sent to Oldham Council’s planning department and will be decided shortly.
