DRESSED to impress . . . Phil Shaw and Adam Neild show off the new Delph Band uniforms with fellow band members
DELPH Brass Band hopes to dazzle audiences with looks as well as talent after being awarded £3,000 for new uniforms.
The windfall has been awarded by Government initiative Grassroots Grants which is being delivered by the Community Foundation across Greater Manchester.
To be eligible, groups must have been formed for at least two years, have an average income of less than £20,000 and be volunteer-led. Band member Philip Shaw said: “It is fantastic to receive this grant as this kind of equipment is so expensive and looking the part is essential.
Nick Massey, chief executive of the Community Foundation, said: “This is a perfect example of the type of project which this funding is designed to help.”
