Help shape the future of child services

PEOPLE in Saddleworth and Lees can have their say on how the area’s new children centres should take shape.
Three consultation days will be held when visitors will be able to find out what the new centres will be offering.
The consultations take place tomorrow at Holy Trinity C E Primary School, Delph New Road, Dobcross, and on Thursday at Greenfield Satellite Youth Centre, Wellington Road.
The final session will be on January 21 at Hey with Zion School, Rowland Way, Lees. All sessions will run 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm.
Groups attending the consultations include the Family Information Service, the Additional Educational Needs team and the Community Outreach team.
Maria Greenwood, head of the Early Intervention and Prevention Service, said: “These consultation days are a great opportunity to raise awareness of the services currently available and collect views from the community on how they would like children’s centre services developed.”
Councillor Kay Knox, cabinet member for Children, Young People and Families, said: “Children’s centres represent an exciting new way of working with the needs of the local area at their heart.”
