SUPERMARKET giant Sainsbury’s is hoping to create 25 new jobs in Oldham with an extension at the Union Street store.
A planning application will be submitted for a mezzanine level which will be used for a new customer restaurant.
Plans go on display in the store’s reception today for a week. The new restaurant will free up the site of the current cafe allowing the supermarket to stock a wider range of goods.
A spokesman for Sainsbury’s said: “This is all part of a wider upgrading programme.
“We are keen to hear the views of the local community before we submit our proposals in the next few weeks.”
