Ay Caramba — it’s Bark Simpson!

BARK BART: unusually marked tree in Alf and Edith’s garden.
Look at the pictures above and see if you notice a likeness.
Have you twigged yet? I hope we’re not going out on a limb or barking up the wrong tree, but doesn’t the picture on the left bear a striking resemblance to the cheeky cartoon character Bart Simpson (inset)?
Or do you think it looks more like an elk or a totem pole.
These are some of the suggestions put forward for what is in fact a tree in Evening Chronicle reader Alf Bridge’s garden.
Mr Bridge decided to snap the odd-looking tree when his wife, Edith, spotted it from the window of their house in Aster Street.
He said: “I couldn’t resist taking a picture as it just looks so unusual. It has become quite a talking point and looks as though it has been carved but I think it’s all natural. I have heard people say it looks like a Simpsons character and a totem pole but I think it looks like an elk and I have christened it the elk of Elk Mill.”
