Jenny scoops top award

AN Oldham law student has been named the best in her year — and has earned a cash prize.

University Centre Oldham student Jenny Miller received the Best Performing Student accolade from the award sponsors, Harold Stock and Co Solicitors, of Stamford Road, Mossley.

The first-year undergraduate came top not just among University Centre Oldham students, but throughout Huddersfield University’s first year law group.

She received a cheque for £250.

Senior lecturer at the University Centre Oldham, Gerald Swaby, said: “Jenny has inspired her peers to set a new standard of achievement. Her determination and accomplishments are a credit to her. This is an award that is very well deserved after a year of extremely hard work.”
