MARIE Curie Cancer Care is offering Oldhamers a final chance to get in step and grab their places for the BUPA Great Manchester run.

Although online entry has now closed, Marie Curie Cancer Care has a number of guaranteed entries and they are hoping enthusiastic Oldhamers will snap them up.

This year’s event, which regularly attracts tens of thousands of runners, will take place on May 17.

Fundraiser Hannah Taylor said: “If you fancy joining tens of thousands of people pouring through the heart of Manchester, then the Great Manchester Run is for you.

“At 10km it’s still a big challenge, but you’ve got until May to get into peak condition.

“The Great Manchester Run is such a special event to take part in and an amazing achievement to say you’ve done it, particularly as you’ll be helping the Marie Curie Nurses to give free one-to-one care to terminally ill people in the local area.

Hannah added: “Getting a place is notoriously difficult, online places were full in less than a week and many runners have not been able to secure their place, but we have a very limited number.

“They are open to anyone who is willing to take on the challenge and raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

“If you failed to get a place online you can still apply for a guaranteed place with us. These special entries will go fast so get in touch now.

“Joining the Marie Curie Daffodil team gives you an exclusive, free Nike Dri FIT technical performance running vest designed to keep you comfortable and cool on the course, full fundraising support and your very own cheering squad on the day!”

Anyone who would like to take advantage of this opportunity, is asked call: 0161 255 2809 or 07798 638 127 for an application pack.
